About the Library
The Center for Ocean-Atmospheric Prediction Studies (COAPS) Library contains over 1,000 books and an extensive collection of journals, newsletters, maps, reports, and reprints relevant to meteorology and oceanography. The library aims to provide an effective and properly managed information resource for the teaching, learning and research needs of all members of COAPS and thereafter the wider community, and will:
- collect and organize materials and facilitate access to them
- employ state-of-the-art techniques and methods in information delivery
- educate patrons to become skilled in accessing information
- play an active and innovative role in the research done by COAPS members
Circulation Policy
Anyone is welcome to browse through the online library catalog and visit the library in-person; however, checkout is limited to COAPS students and employees.
COAPS students and employees may borrow items for up to 8 weeks, and must return all items to the library by the end of each semester. If a library patron requests an item that another patron is currently borrowing, the patron who has the item will be asked to return the item to the library within 1 week. Patrons will be billed for the repair or replacement cost of damaged or lost items.
Hours & Contact Information
The library is located in Room 210 of the Robert M. Johnson building, and is open continuously to COAPS employees and students. Non-COAPS patrons should contact the librarian to schedule visits: .
